I have been appointed as Commissioner to South Auckland Middle School. I want to begin by acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the Tumuaki and staff. The Ministry has confirmed full confidence in the leadership and management of the school, and that does not change with this appointment. The intention is to strengthen governance settings so the school can continue to operate with stability and confidence, and eventually under a properly constituted board.
With over 30 years' experience in governance and management, as a senior leader, board member and adviser, and holding a practicing certificate as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, I am well placed to support the school through this process.
I look forward to working alongside the Tumuaki, staff, and community in the coming weeks.
